Probably a few more days worth of cows which just goes to show how many of these bovines there are surrounding the center of West Hartford.

Sunday Morning Run With Ben (Part II)
More photos from my run with Ben. These were taken on our way back as the sun was beginning to light the day.
The sun rises over the swamp.
The lily pads are still going strong.
The dead trees look much different once the sun has risen.

Sunday Morning Run With Ben
I went on an early morning run with Ben and took these photos as the sun was just beginning to rise.
A beaver den in the early morning mist.
Eerie looking dead trees in the foggy swamp.
Ben happy about the chance to frolic in the shallow rapids.

Saturday In The Park
An eventful Saturday included team photo day for Caylee's soccer team in Hebron, a visit to the Dragon Boat races at the Riverfront in Hartford and trip to see the cows in West Hartford Center.

We Have Pets
In addition to my faithful dog Ben, there are two other pets on board and one here for just a day.
This is Abby Dabby the Little Hermit Crabby who putters around her sandbox (seen in the background).
This is Lila the hamster who loves grapes.
This is a sad little blind dog that I found in the middle of the road last night. Tomorrow the animal control folks are coming for him.

American Heart Association Walk
Took part in today's AMA fund-raising event. Hundreds of walkers braved intermittent rain to raise funds and honor lost friends.

Last Sunday On The Beach
Sorry, no site postings yesterday due to a problem with the hosting service. The following photos are from last Sunday at Charlestown Beach.
Early morning stroll on the beach.
It was a splendid morning.
Caylee and I built a sand castle including a burrow to protect ourselves from the wind.
Front view of our castle including our insignia. Actually it was a horseshoe crab sheel and a shirt that washed up on shore.
The scene from inside the castle.

Saturday at the Beach - Part II
Highlights from a late summer day and night at the beach in Charlestown, Rhode Island.
Caylee chasing her Aunt Whitney with a dead and stinky fish.
Caylee and Papa with their walking sticks.
Caylee dashes. Papa observes. The waves crash.
Almost 70 years apart but still the best of buddies.

Effects of Hurricane Fabian
Thankfully, our friends in Bermuda survived the brute force of Hurricane Fabian. We were reminded of the storm's power as huge waves pounded the Rhode Island shore on Saturday.
Caylee and Papa observing the surf.
The churning tide.
At times, the waves would look almost gentle...
...but not for long.
No swimming today. At least, no safe swimming today.
Caylee tip-toes toward the thundering ocean.
In places, the waves ran all the way up to the dunes
Fury and calm.
There were surfers in the waves breaking by the breachway.

Caylee's First Soccer Game
This Saturday was a beautiful day for Caylee's first soccer game. This is her second year of soccer and her first with an all-girls squad of six and seven-year olds.
Caylee took this picture of game action.

PB&J
Driving into work today, I was wondering what I would be able to find for a new website picture. And I saw this when I pulled into the parking lot. Amazing.

Last Beach Photos
These are the last of the photos to be posted from Labor Day 2003. A few more from a very 'picturesque' walk and some more from that evening's spectacular sunset.
The view from the beach blanket.

Running ahead.
Chasing seagulls.
Sprinting back to the cottage.
The sun begins to set over a beautiful Sunday.

Labor Day in Rhode Island
Lots of photos from this weekend in Charlestown Beach. I'll use the next few days to post a group of them.
A walk at night to look at Mars.
Sunday morning before the crowds set in.
Sunbathing.
In a hurry.
Say what?
Who do you think you're foolin'?
